All missing components can be added with a few clicks via the NewComponent feature. A import library with all standard components is shipped with the LayoutEditor. For a correct reading of a LTspice file any component used in the schematic had to be present in a component library of the SchematicEditor. The SchematicEditor can read this file format. LTSpice has a own format to store schematics. The schematic can be used for any operation by LayoutEditor like schematic driven layout.
So it is possible to open an example shipped with LTspice with the SchematicEditor and trigger its simulation with just one mouse click and view the results in the LTspice waveform viewer. So the LayoutEditor or more exact the SchematicEditor can read schematics from LTspice, import components from LTspice and can create netlists in the LTspice format. LTspice is integrated into the LayoutEditor and both work together in many ways.
